Raipur, 27 March. Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has slammed the Congress government for allegedly ‘crossing all limits of negligence’ which eventually infected the cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar.
Expressing his deep concern over the famous cricketer Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar being found Corona positive, Party spokesperson Anurag Singhdev blamed the Congress government in Chhattisgarh for its alleged criminal apathy for the Corona pandemic.
Singhdev said that the situation would not have been as uncontainable as it has turned out today, had the state government taken the necessary and precautionary measures regarding the second wave of Corona infection. Allowing cricket matches involving erstwhile cricket legends in capital Raipur early this month without following the Corona guidelines proved to be fatal, he said.
Sachin has tested positive for Covid-19 after developing mild symptoms. He took to Twitter to confirm the news on Saturday morning. “I have been testing myself and taking all the recommended precautions to ensure COVID is kept at bay. However, I have tested positive today following mild symptoms,” the 47-year-old wrote on his Twitter handle.
“All others at home have tested negative. I have quarantined myself at home and I am following all the necessary protocols as advised by my doctors,” he wrote in his official statement.
BJP spokesperson alleged that the state government has crossed all limits of negligence to push the state back into the clutches of pandemic and as a result of which Sachin Tendulkar has been found Corona soon after his return from Chhattisgarh.
Anurag appealed to the people to be cautious and take personal precautions instead of relying on the ineffective Congress government which has been miserably failed in containing the pandemic. He said that the state government is playing with the people’s lives by taking the horrific corona infection lightly and indulging in political rhetoric on indigenously developed Covaxin
