Raipur, 18 June. Corona tide that peaked in May has been continuously retreating and has taken the rate of corona infection in Chhattisgarh to as low as 1.29 percent. The recovery rate has also increased to 98 percent and the deaths due to corona have also come down significantly. Elated by the descending corona cases, the state government has been gradually allowing the unlocking of the cities and towns.
The infection rate in 25 out of 28 districts has come down to 0.28 percent to 2.89 percent. Only three districts have been reporting daily infection a bit higher than the state average. Korba, for instance, reported 3.03 percent, Gariyaband 3.46 percent, and Bijapur 4.59 percent, according to health officials.
The deaths due to corona have also reduced significantly. 76 people reported having been died of Covid-19 during the last week. State government data suggest that 7 deaths were reported on June 11, 15 on June 12, 13 on June 13, 6 on June 14, 17 on June 15, 8 on June 16, and 12 on June 17. 34 patients with comorbidities are also included in the list.
So far 74 lakh 33 thousand 759 doses of Corona vaccines have been administered in the state. A total of 62 lakh 30 thousand 957 people in the age group of above 45 years and 18 to 44 years have been given the first dose and 12 lakh two thousand 802 citizens have been given inoculated with second dose the jab. The state so far has received a total of 83 lakh 28 thousand 070 vaccines from the central government for health workers, frontline workers, and citizens above 45 years.
12 lakh 51 thousand 420 vaccines have been supplied by the vaccine manufacturing companies for the age group of 18 to 44 years. At present, 19 lakh 42 thousand 890 vaccines are available for citizens above 45 years and one lakh 79 thousand 580 for the age group of 18 to 44 years in the state.
