Governors transferred before Modi cabinet rejig

New Delhi, 06 July. The time and opportunity for those who been patiently waiting for a cabinet berth for more than a year now, is now about to knock their doors even as a handful of their colleagues in Modi cabinet may soon be shown the door for their dismal show . Prior to exercise this long awaited rejig to have his cabinet a younger and smarter look, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the governors of many states besides appointing some new governor.

Union Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot for instance, has been appointed as the Governor of Karnataka. Sources in the BJP claims that he had requested Prime Minister Modi to discharge him of his duties as cabinet minister. Similarly, Bandaru Dattatreya will now be the Governor of Haryana.

According to an official release by the President’s Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon, Mizoram Governor Sreedharan Pillai has been transferred and appointed as the Governor of Goa. Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya has been appointed as the Governor of Tripura and Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais has been appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand.

Bandaru Dattatreya has been removed from Himachal Pradesh and appointed as the Governor of Haryana. The Governor of Mizoram will be Dr. Hari Babu Kambampati. Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel will be the Governor of Madhya Pradesh. While Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will be the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
